Precedence of authority
Policy and practice in Red Feather Mountain Library District is governed (in order of
precedence) by

Federal law and regulation
Colorado State statute and regulation
Larimer County ordnance.
Red Feather Mountain Library District policy and procedure

Apparent conflicts between District policies or procedures and statute or binding regulation are
resolved in the order above.

Library nondiscrimination statement
Red Feather Mountain Library District does not discriminate in either patronage or consideration for employment by age, ancestry, class, color, culture, disability, employment status, ethnicity, gender, ideology and opinions, income, interests, language, learning styles, marital status, national origin, politics, race, religion, sexual orientation or veteran’s status.

Library legal authority and standards
Red Feather Mountain Library District is an independent special service district under Colorado
law and as such is subject to state statute as pertains to the organization and regulation of library districts.

Red Feather Mountain Library District will meet or exceed standards established by the
Colorado Definition of a Public Library and Colorado Public Library Standards.
