Public Attendance at Library Meetings Policy

Red Feather Community Library encourages public attendance at Library meetings.
Many library meetings are operational or work meetings. Public discussion at these meetings is
necessarily limited so that the Library Board and Staff can complete their work in a timely
manner.
The following guidelines applies to public discussion at Library work meetings:
A sign-up sheet will be available, first come, first serve, for those wishing to speak and
must be completed before speaking.
Public discussion is limited to 5 minutes each.
No more than 4 individuals will be permitted to speak per meeting.
Group discussion is not permitted. Rather, a spokesperson must be selected.
Language and behavior must be appropriate for a public event.
Board members and staff will not necessarily respond to comments.
Comments should be specific to the Library, Library services and operation.
Signs, posters, and/or other distractive elements are prohibited in the meeting.
Audience members should refrain from comment while others hold the floor.
Obscene, harassing, derogatory language is prohibited.
At a majority vote by the Library Board, a public hearing can be scheduled for a future
time.
