Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control and Glacier View Fire Protection District plan to burn 4,500 cubic yards of wildfire-mitigation debris in the Glacier View Meadows neighborhood near Livermore. The agencies are planning a Oct. 10 start, estimating it will take six to eight weeks.
Stage 1 The following restrictions will stay in effect until 11:59 p.m., Nov. 3, 2026.
Banned today:
- Uncontained Open Fires, such a ring of rock fires.
- Combustible devices, including exploding ammunition, exploding targets, and tracer ammunition
- Operating or using any device with an internal or external combustion engine without a spark arrest device properly installed and in effective order
- Contained Open Fires. This includes open fire in a permanently constructed, stationary masonry or metal fireplaces specifically designed for the purpose of combustion
- Charcoal and pellet fueled grills and smokers
- Woodburning fires in a device specifically designated to contain fire
- Gas or liquid fueled fires, including grills and camping stoves
- Smoking outdoors in a 3’ cleared space
- Welding in a 10’ cleared space with a functional extinguisher present
- Fireplaces or wood stoves located inside a residence
- Open burning (official forest management purposes)
- Execution of authorized burn permits
- “Permissible fireworks” which do not leave the ground, as defined in Colorado State Statute (C.R.S. 24-33.5-2001(11))
Any person who knowingly violates these regulations can be fined.
This restriction is in effect for all climate zones in unincorporated Larimer County.

Magic Feather Prescribed Burn, south of County Road 74E (Red Feather Lakes Road). Red Feather Lakes, Dowdy Lake campground and Lady Moon and Mt. Margaret trails, may experience smoke during this burn.

Salt Cabin Prescribed Burn, 2 miles southeast of Rustic, Colorado, and south of the Cache la Poudre River. Areas along the Poudre River corridor (Colorado Highway 14) may experience smoke during this prescribed burn.

1st annual Parade of Toys on Saturday December 5th (Glacier View). This is a brand new event for our community. Decorate your vehicles with holiday lights and join the parade throughout the neighborhood! All you need to do to join is to RSVP your UTV and donate a new unwrapped toy. All donations will be handed over to the local Marine Corp Toys for Tots. 100% of the donations stay in Larimer County. Santa will be joining us! RSVP by Dec 1st.
