. “The Nature Around Us: Woodland Oddities” September 9 lecture to be held at the Mary Keller Community Room (under the GVM office) at 6:30-7:30PM.
“The Nature Around Us: Woodland Oddities” will be presented by local naturalist and member of the Ecology Committee, Terry Campbell. Hikers and backpackers are often goal-oriented and in a hurry. Many take to the forest for a fast-paced hike to reach a particular destination; however, being too focused on such physical goals prevents one from appreciating the trail itself. A high-quality walk in the woods is never pressured by time allowing the opportunity for discovery. Please join us to learn what one may find while taking a stroll in our local woodlands.
CANCELLED-Life on a Cattle Ranch September 9
“Cattle Drives — A Livermore Traffic Jam”
Taylor Archuleta, manager of the Ptasnik Land and Cattle Ranch
Taylor will be telling us all about life on the ranch, from growing and harvesting the alfalfa hay to grazing and raising cattle, birthing calves, and how to manage a cattle drive. And that’s just the beginning of what you will learn from Taylor’s presentation. This might also be presentation that your children will love.
