Red Feather Lakes Community Library Social Media Policy

Approved by the Red Feather Mountain Library District Board of Trustees on February 22, 2017.

Red Feather Lakes Community Library utilizes social media sites to support our mission of linking people to the world, inspiring ideas, nurturing minds and presenting knowledge for life. The Library establishes and uses social media platforms as means to inform the community about educational opportunities, library programs, events (including those co-sponsored with other organizations) and materials as well as to encourage dialogue and exchange of information between users and Library staff about opportunities, programs, events and materials.

User comments, posts and messages are welcome on Library social media sites. The Library reserves the right to monitor content and to delete any comments or posts it deems to be abusive, defamatory, discriminatory, unauthorized advertisement or spam, in violation of any law, including, without limitation, intellectual property and copyright laws, or otherwise inappropriate for Library content.

The Library will make reasonable efforts to monitor its social media sites. The Library is not responsible or liable for the content of postings by third parties on any Library sponsored social media site, and postings do not reflect the opinions or positions of the Library, its employees or Board of Trustees.

By posting content, the user agrees to indemnify the Library, its employees and Board of Trustees from and against all liabilities, judgments, damages and costs (including attorney’s fees) incurred by any of them which arise out of or are related to the posted content. Comments may not be used for commercial purposes or for political activity.
