Description: RED FEATHER LAKES HOSTS 9HEALTH FAIR
The 9Health Fair will be at Red Feather Lakes on Saturday, May 5, 2012, 7:00 am until 12 noon. This is a wonderful opportunity to participate in low-cost and free health screenings. The 9Health Fair will be held at three sites: RFL Community Library (71 Fire House Lane), RFL Volunteer Fire Department’s Ambulance Bay, and RFL Property Owners Association (POA at 58 Fire House Lane). Due to limited parking, please follow parking instructions from volunteer traffic monitors, and then register for 9Health Fair at POA building. 9Health Fair provides low-cost blood tests, including blood chemistry, blood count, prostate specific antigen (PSA), and Vitamin D. New this year is Hemoglobin A1c blood screening, which measures average blood sugar control for past 2 to 3 months. Please DO NOT eat 12 hours before having blood drawn (diabetics should not fast). Please DO drink plenty of water and take your prescribed medications. Participants must be 18 years of age and older. All participants must start first at POA building for registration and blood
pressure check. Blood screenings will be offered at RFLVFD Ambulance Bay with cashier station in the Stenzel Meeting Room at Red Feather Lakes Community Library. Free health screenings offered at RFL Library include vision, oral/dental, lung function, and much more. Red Feather Lakes 9Health Fair needs non-medical and medical volunteers. Description: Erik Moore will be presenting a small lecture and hands-on workshop that explores current trends and technologies that are having a disruptive and transformational effect on people lives, careers, and relationships. The cloud, mobile devices, and social networking technologies influence our lives increasingly, and understanding where trends are going is important. After a Q&A session Erik will poll the audience and present hands-on experiences that relate to their interest that can include advanced uses of the Internet, mobile device apps, a fun introduction to programming, digital security and safety, or advanced skills in office applications.
Erik Moore is the Associate Dean of the College of Engineering & Information Sciences at DeVry University, Colorado. His research on information security and virtual systems has been presented at international conferences in places like Luzern, Switzerland and Hawaii. He oversees undergraduate and graduate programs in Electronics Engineering Technology, Computer Information Systems, Network & Communications Management, and Multimedia Design & Development.
